Webster Technique

The Webster Technique is the chiropractic technique that focuses on caring for women during pregnancy. It has specialized chiropractic analysis and adjustments for pregnant women.  It specifically focuses on the alignment of the sacrum which is located in your pelvis and particular pelvic muscles and ligaments, including the round ligament of the uterus.  The goal is to restore proper pelvic balance and alignment and reduce intrauterine constrain.  Proper pelvic alignment also helps create the environment for your baby to move into optimal positioning for labor and delivery.  This can result in a better labor and delivery experience including shorter labor times. Webster technique is also the technique used by chiropractors when the baby presents in the breech position.  Through proper alignment and pelvic balance we are creating the space and environment for the baby to turn themself out of the breech position. Dr. Boyd specializes in prenatal chiropractic care and is certified in the Webster Technique.

The Webster Technique is used during pregnancy to address pelvic and sacral biomechanics and related soft-tissue tension. The goal is to improve pelvic function and comfort as the body changes during pregnancy. It can be used to help treat pelvic pain or discomfort, low back pain or discomfort, hip and sacroiliac joint discomfort, and muscle and ligament tension around the pelvis.
